CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, the nation’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottler, closed its previously disclosed agreement with the Coca-Cola Co. to expand the bottler’s franchise territory to include Cleveland and Cookeville, Tenn. This closing represents an additional phase of the proposed franchise territory expansion described in a previously announced letter of intent between the bottler and the Coca-Cola Co.
As previously disclosed, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated signed definitive agreements with the Coca-Cola Co. to exchange the bottler’s franchise territory in Jackson, Tenn.. for territory currently served by Coca-Cola Refreshments USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co., and to expand the bottler’s franchise territory to include Louisville, Ky., and Evansville, Ind.
The bottler is continuing to work toward a definitive agreement with the Coca-Cola Co. for the remainder of the proposed franchise territory expansion described in the letter of intent, including Paducah and Pikeville, Ky.
